Horse nose bleed? please help?

Hello, I have been around alot of TBs and never seen ths=is problem before i picked up awhile ago that the horse i lease may be having trouble swallowing, but im not quiet sure, i havent seen any other horses do what he does, he stretches out his neck long and has his mouth open, it looks as though he cant swallow properly and does this a few times throughout his night feed. Then the other day when i seen him i thought i seen blood in his right nostril so i looked closer and it was blood. it was not running but kind of dried it didnt look like there was to much but he hasnt had it before and i havent seen it again since, i dont feed him in the mornings so i only check him once a day. he is a 22 y/o TB gelding and apart from that in great health, Let me know if you have any answers or have been through the same thing!
