Is it safe to visit / travel to syria?

i am a 21 year old male, i am armenian, I want to go to syria this summer to visit family with my mom, we r both american citizens and she is also a syrian citizen. Is it safe to travel there? will i have problems at the airport once we lane there? Will it be safe overall? I've been there before when i was 10, but thats when america didn't have big problems with the middle east. Thanks :)
