I was in a car wreck, the car titile is in my dads name. The other parties insurance company involved in the?

crashed sent me the check for repair but its in my dad name. My dad does not live around me. He will be in town sunday but only for a short period of time. No check cashing place will be open and I dont have a local bank*(student). Can he write my name on the payable line and endorse the back and sign it over to me? If that doesnt work what can I do, I dont want to go through the hle of giving him the check and letting him mail me the money or a check from his bank- dont trust him.
