What would you say has been Jet Li's best film so far?
Forget the action sequences for a second and think about all the film elements from the acting to the plot, the fight choreography, and the dialogue and character development. Which film that actor/martial artist Jet Li has appeared in since he's been in American made films do you think has been his best (most enjoyable) film. Enjoyable can either be from an entertainment aspect or from an emotional moral aspect as far as caring about the characters and the delimma at hand. For me personally that film was Romeo Must Die because it wasn't gorey and the plot was very exciting with Han looking for his brother's killer, trying to fit in with Trish's friends, and then the emotional tie of betrayal on both sides of the family. It was all very exciting all the way around even if there were major flaws here and there in acting on the part of some characters. Mack showed how vicious he was and Kai was evil but had a smoothness to him that no one ever matched. The character development of Kai (Russell Wong) was great in that movie. There was no intense love scene between Trish and Han but that was okay. I think the audience could tell from the dialogue that Trish really cared about Han even though we didn't see them kiss or Han didn't take any bullets for her in the film (which would have upped the drama a bit). The scene when Han snuck into her room probably would have been the moment for the love scene if the director had allowed it.
